Staying here for another day. Such a great site. Lynn and I went down “town” shopping in her truck while Gerry and Barry went to check out their bank in our truck. We found a great shop of very sweet clothes etc. Then joined the guys at the local sidewalk “cafĂ© coffee shop”. Really nice sitting out in 72 degrees. Lots of snow birds appear to be arriving and greeting each other like long lost friends.
Had my hair cut at a local Shoppe? Very interesting single mom who has two daughters and is fighting the system. Meeting with the principal to insure that the money spent on sports is equally divided among the boys and GIRLS sports. They think I’m dumb because I’m a single mom and didn’t go to college. No one will take advantage of this gal. When told he kid wouldn’t make it in college she responded “Let’s not clip their wings before they have a chance to fly.” The new principal of the school lives in

Another benefactor is the Avery label guy who has bought up land and is working with a sculptor who has provided metal sculpture of those plants, people and animals that did inhabit, and do inhabit the desert area in this area. They are placed all over town – some as one enters the town and others on back roads where we came upon a groups, first of grape pickers and then further down of the mastodons that once inhabited the earth millions of years ago of which fossils have been found locally.
